Welcome to www.OriginalMarshallTucker.com !!
This site is dedicated to the memory of George McCorkle, Toy and Tommy Caldwell as well as the surviving members of the original Marshall Tucker Band. I created this site in hopes to encourage MTB's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. After all, MTB released their first album in 1973 which makes their induction 8 years over due. Induct the band that appealed to everyone from Hippies and Hillbillies, to U.S. Presidents! Induct Marshall Tucker Band!
Remember, "One Honest Voice can be heard over a crowd" Your voice and signature counts!
This site is also to honor a great band that helped change the sound of Rock and Roll and Country Music Forever Toy Caldwell

The "Original" Marshall Tucker Band
In 1973 an album was released which changed the sound of Rock and Roll Forever! That album was the self titled "Marshall Tucker Band". The album contained hits like "Take the Highway" and the southern rock anthem "Can't you See". The Marshall Tucker band combined Country, Rock, Jazz, and Blues to create an original sound which transcended all music boundaries. To this day Marshall Tucker songs can be heard on both rock and country stations around the world.
Their follow up album "A new life", which contained the hit "24 hours at a time", was no less impressive and continued to grow their fan base. However, their success exploded upon their release of "Searchin' for a Rainbow" which contained their first top 40 hit "Fire on the Mountain".
Tragically, in 1980 bass player Tommy Caldwell was killed due to injuries sustained in a Jeep accident. George McCorkle, decided to leave the band in 1983 and this was the end of "The Original Line-up". Sadly, Toy Caldwell Passed away in 1993 due to heart failure.
Today, Doug Gray, still tours under the Marshall Tucker Band name. I have had the great pleasure of meeting Doug and the guys touring as Marshall Tucker Band. However, this site is a memorial to the Band that changed Rock and Roll Forever, the Original Marshall Tucker Band.
I have been blessed to have became very good friends with George McCorkle. It has been a highlight of my life to get to know, work for, and become friends with George. George, has become my inspiration not only as a musician, but as a human being and a man. Thanks George!!! I miss you Brother!!! I think no other band truly deserves to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Country Music Hall of Fame, & Musician's Hall of Fame more than the Original Marshall Tucker Band!!!
This site is a constant work in progress as we continue to find new things to add
