___________________________________________________________________________________ Welcome to www.OriginalMarshallTucker.com !! This site is dedicated to the memory of Toy and Tommy Caldwell as well as the surviving members of the original Marshall Tucker Band. I created this site in hopes to encourage MTB's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. After all, MTB released their first album in 1973 which makes their induction 8 years over due. Induct the band that appealed to everyone from Hippies and Hillbillies, to U.S. Presidents! Induct Marshall Tucker Band! Remember, "One Honest Voice can be heard over a crowd" Your voice and signature counts! This site is also to honor a great band that helped change the sound of Rock and Roll Forever

"The Marshall Tucker Band has always been one of my favorite performing groups, and in addition to providing me with many hours of enjoying their music, I’m indebted to them in other ways. While on the Capricorn Records label, the Marshall Tucker Band gathered large crowds and helped to promote my candidacy for president. The broad range of their talents and selections helped to guarantee that all kinds of folks came to hear them and to listen to my very brief campaign speeches. I was additionally honored when they played during the celebration of my inauguration. They certainly deserve a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame." -- Jimmy Carter I
would like to personally thank President Carter for being so kind to take
time out of his busy schedule to give me the above statement. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The original Marshall Tucker Band was more than just a band; it was a total musical experience. “Can't You See", "Fire on the Mountain", "Heard It in a Love Song" and countless others of our favorite MTB songs remain important to the history of rock and roll. The Tucker band had soul. From their unique approach – how many other rock bands regurly employed a flute and stellar guitar players who picked with their thumbs – to their memorable lyrics and engaging melodies, the boys of the Marshall Tucker Band were born to entertain. And entertain us they did, through both exciting concerts back in the day, and continued rotation on radio and our individual music devices. More so than the Velvet Underground, Talking Heads, and the Sex Pistols, the Marshall Tucker Band matters. Why the hell aren’t they in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yet? Let’s try and fix that, y’all. The MTB deserves our efforts. They rock....Marley Brant Marley Brant is the well known Author of the following books: Thanks Marley!! Hard to argue with that... |
